Programs

University Mall Community Space

Our community space program is currently on hiatus. Please check back soon for specific date availability.

The Community Space is a room made available on Saturdays, free of charge, to local non-profit organizations for the purposes of raising funds and/or promoting awareness about their organization. The Community Space is located across from Applebee's and is sponsored by 98.9 WOKO.
To apply for the use of this space:

1) Call to check on date availability, 863-1066 x11.

2) Download our COMMUNITY SPACE APPLICATION here

In Adobe Acrobat PDF format. (Hard copies of the application are also available at our Customer Service Desk.)

(Don't have the Acrobat Reader plug-in for your browser? Download and install it right now!)

3) Fax these completed forms to: (802) 863-5836. Pending date availability, you will soon be emailed a confirmation/acceptance.

A certificate of insurance from your insurance carrier is required. University Mall LLC and Finard Properties LLC must be listed as additional insured on your certificate. This form may also be faxed to (802) 863-5836.

Please note: The Community Space works best if you create large window displays or signs to be eye-catching and generate interest from passers-by. Have fun and be creative with your display. We encourage your organization to post the display one week in advance, on the Monday prior to your Saturday event for maximum exposure.

Mall Walker Program

University Mall invites the public to "Walk the Mall". Increase your physical fitness through walking in a safe, climate-controlled environment. Mall walkers are welcome after 6:00am, Monday - Saturday and after 7:00am on Sundays. Two full laps around the inside perimeter of the Mall equals ONE mile. Please visit the Customer Service Desk for further details.

Scholarship of Excellence

Note: The scholarship program will resume once again in February 2011.

Since 2001 University Mall has awarded local students over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships courtesy of owners Bill Finard, Todd Finard, and Rob Hughes of Finard Properties. Five area high school seniors will soon receive $5,000 each toward their first year of college. University Mall’s Scholarship of Excellence is designed to be awarded to students who embody excellence in academics, leadership, and community service. This year’s five recipients represent a broad geographic cross-section of our communities:

AUBREY BRUECKNER, daughter of Rosemarie and Robert Brueckner, is a senior at South Burlington High School. She is recognized for creating the “Treats For Troops” community service project, volunteering with the local senior communities, and for her involvement in the Miss Teen Vermont organization. Aubrey plans to attend The University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

ALLISON BRULEY, daughter of Michael and Denise Bruley of Swanton, Vermont, is a senior at Missisquoi Valley Union High School. Brooke has volunteered for over a decade with the Otter Creek Basin Student History Club, reaching out to her community as a tour guide and through hands-on historic reenactments.
